Phacoemulsification use in controlling intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients
Keywords:
phacoemulsification/utilization, intraocular pressure, glaucomaAbstract
Phacoemulsification is the most modern and widespread technique for cataract operation, its use is no longer a disjuntive to become a weapon to be used in the treatment of glaucoma in order to achieve the reduction of intraocular pressure, the only factor that can act to prevent the progression of the disease. Mechanisms of invoked action are discussed in reducing intraocular pressure after phacoemulsification with the aim of publicizing its effectiveness as studies based on evidence by different authors and the results of recent cases operated on with this technique in the "Arnaldo Milian Castro" Eye Center Surgical Clinical Hospital.Downloads
