Abstract

Introduction: Good appearance plays an important role in human relationships and  sometimes has been associated with professional and social success.
Objective: to contribute to the reflection on some ethical aspects related to Cosmetic Surgery.
Method: a bibliographic review was carried out that included books and a website.
Development:
a review was made on appearance as an essential factor in human relationships. Good appearance has always been associated with professional and social success. Doctors can not ignore the importance it has for the biopsychosocial balance of the individual.
Conclusions: Plastic Surgery is another specialty within the Cuban Public Health System that is accessible to all patients.
