Abstract

Phytotherapy is a form of traditional and natural medicine that is widely spread and has a strong tradition that represents part of the culture of peoples. Dr. Juan Tomas Roig was an outstanding botanist who made the most extensive collection of medicinal plants in Cuba. In this paper, it is proposed an approach to the work of this scientific and revolutionary who bequeathed such valuable knowledge.
