Recovery of hypobaric drainage system for breast cancer surgery
Keywords:
hypobaric drains; surgery; breast cancerAbstract
In Cuba, drains for breast surgery are increasingly scarce in hospitals, causing significant disruption. Therefore, to ensure the necessary therapeutic procedures, it became essential to recover and reuse these supplies to reduce patient waiting times. This study aims to describe the use of recovered and adapted hypobaric drainage systems for the surgical treatment of breast cancer. For over two years, the Arnaldo Milián Castro University Clinical Surgical Hospital in Villa Clara has been recovering these negative pressure suction drains and adapting the devices as sterile suction catheters.
