Cystic adenoid carcinoma is one of the most common malignancies in the salivary glands; it is an infiltrative tumor, recurrent, of slow growth, with perineural and perivascular extension. The objective of this work is to report about a female patient of 62 years who presented a strong right facial asymmetry, soft tissue mass on the yugal mucous without massive bone infiltration and destruction on the same side. Through an incisional biopsy a cystic adenoid carcinoma was diagnosed and imaging studies showed multiple lung metastases. Clinical and histopathologic features of this neoplasm are highlighted and guidelines are established in oncospecific treatment in which is included, as a priority, the microscopic examination of the lesion set.Downloads
