Abstract

Melanocytic nevu is a rare congenital disease that may occur at any age and in different parts of the body, mainly in the vulva; although it may be found, less frequently, in the perineum and pubis. It has a wide range of conditions, from benign lesions to malignant tumors, and they are single or multiple neoplasms. They are characterized by a brown or black patch, well-defined, with a smooth surface and uniform pigmentation, and with regular exact limits, sometimes a bit high, that tend to decrease with age. Acquired pigmented nevi are benign, but a very low percentage of them undergo a malignant transformation. If there are concerns regarding the benign nature of a nevus then removal is a safe and simple outpatient technique that can be justified to avoid anxiety. They are almost always asymptomatic. A patient, with no previous history at all, presented only with a pigmented lesion located on the hood of the clitoris. She underwent exeresis and biopsy without complications and had a satisfactory clinical progress.
