Educative diagnosis about oral health in diabetic patients from santaclara´s clinic

With the purpose of knowledge the attitude and patient's knowledge's about oral health, was accomplished a descriptive transversal study in 60 diabetic patients belonged to the Basic work Group No.2 from Santa Clara´s Clinic attended in the stomatological teaching clinic. The information was obtained by using the survey method, observation and documental analysis of individual and family stomatological and medical records. As a result were found the following data: 70% were women, 50% elderly persons, and the 40% had the secondary instruction level. On the other hand, the 70% knew that diabetic patients are more disposed to oral infections, the 46.7% were able to recognize the symptoms and signs of disease and the 23% proved to be aware that the disease can appear in uncontrolled diabetic patients with bad hygiene habits.Downloads
