A case of urinary schistosomiasis produced by a schistosoma haematobium detected in Villa Clara Province in a 19 year old student from the South African Republic is presented. A detailed review of this disease was carried out. The case was treated in the Urological Services of the Arnaldo Milian Castro Provincial University Hospital with the previous coordination with the Provincial Centre of Hygiene and Epidemiology. The treatment used was praziquantel and the disease evolved to the cure. The patient is currently under the follow up in the outpatient department of urological services with the objective of preventing or detecting in time the appearance of a relapse or the appearance of vesical neoplasias, or both.Downloads
