Abstract

The presence of intrahepatic portal venous gas in adults is not a common condition; it's most common underlying cause is intestinal ischemia. However, there are growing reports of cases associated to benign illnesses which are eligible for a conservative treatment. A case that was diagnosed as a mesenteric thrombosis using the ultrasonographic technique is reported.
