It is presented a patient suffering from a granular cell tumor of the tongue, tumor rare and important differential diagnosis with other tumor and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity due to its clinical similarity. The patient of 36 years old, with gingival bleeding, was referred to the Consultation of Periodontics by a nodule of 1.3cm in diameter in the right lateral border of the tongue, of two months of evolution, flushed appearance, increased consistency, well defined and painless, an excisional biopsy performed reported a Abrikossoff tumor of the tongue. The granular cell tumor is a diagnostic challenge for the Specialist in Pathology and Medical assistance and it should be taken into consideration when evaluating the patient with lesions of the tongue.
