Abstract

Due to the high incidence of cancer worldwide, it is vitally important to study the interplay between the key issues that linked infectious agents, chronic inflammation, cancer and lymphomas. Hence it was decided to make a literature review to allow us making a pathophysiological assessment of the infectious agents and the chronic inflammatory response in the lymphomagenesis, with particular emphasis on Epstein Barr virus (EBV) and Helicobacter pylori. Undoubtedly a further pathophysiological knowledge about the induction or malignant transformation due to infectious agents will imply more efficient future therapies.
