The economic blockade. Its impact on public health in Cuba
Keywords:
public health/economicsAbstract
Since April 1960, before being officially declared the economic blockade against Cuba, a State Department report stated: "... The only permissible means to alienate internal support is through disenchantment and discouragement based on dissatisfaction and economic hardship ... any means should be used primarily to weaken the economic life of Cuba. A course of action that would have the greatest impact is denying money and supplies to Cuba to reduce the real income thereby causing starvation, desperation and the overthrow of the government”. Based on the above mentioned, an investigation is conducted about how the economic blockade has affected the Cuban health in each of its different fields and areas, with a strong statistical and economic analysis, defined by medical specialty and academic training.Downloads
