Abstract

Geology is a natural science with astronomy, geography, biology and botany and therefore has much to do with the environment in which we live. The geological events that could pose potential threats to society are characterized by their unpredictability and their lethal consequences, but more dangerous is that there is a lack of awareness on these types of risks. This work is aimed at promoting an awareness of geological features that contribute to the rational use of natural resources and to improve the quality of life of Cuban medical students and teachers. It is also aimed at contributing to the knowledge and management of geological aspects and their vulnerability to human behavior and reflecting on the implementation of measures affecting one way or another the improvement of the environment. It also includes measures to prevent and mitigate the negative effects. We must know the sources of vulnerability to act consistently on them and reduce their negative effects.
