Aspects to be considered for cataract surgery in glaucoma patients

A research was carried out related with a surgical technique that impacts in the visual health of patients that suffer from cataract and glaucoma. In many cases it constitutes an enigma to decide for patients and ophthalmologists, the final decision deserve the consideration of several aspects. The advance in the surgical techniques of cataract and glaucoma makes some authors consider that the surgery combined glaucoma- cataract represents the election technique since improvement the patient's visual sharpness, it normalizes the intraocular pressure and it reduce the use of anti- glaucomatous treatment in a single surgical act. The “Arnaldo Milián Castro” Surgical Hospital in Santa Clara city, Villa Clara Province backs up this cause perfecting the surgical techniques so as to enhance the quality of patient´s life related with their visual health every day.Downloads
