Behavior of sexuality in elderly women

Sexuality in the elderly was approached through a descriptive study to characterize its behavior in women who attend to the Grandparents’ Club from the Basic Working Group 3 Family Medical Offices of the Marta Abreu Polyclinic in Santa Clara, from April 2009 to March 2010. The universe was formed by 108 women and the study sample by 84 women. The selection was intentional. They were given a questionnaire on sexuality: the analysis showed predominance of sexual interest –65 (77.38%)– and that they had sexual relations once or twice a month –33 (39.29%). It was concluded that there were more women between 60-69 years of age and who had completed primary schooling; the majority reported having sexual interest and having sexual relations, these every fortnight or at least once a month, and the most frequent form was vaginal intercourse.Downloads
