Abdominal ectopic pregnancy. Case report

Abdominal ectopic pregnancy is an exceptional anomaly that represents 1% of the ectopic pregnancies; It is associated with high maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. The risk of maternal mortality is seven to eight times higher than that of a tubal ectopic pregnancy and 90 times greater than that of an intrauterine pregnancy. It is a difficult diagnosis that, in many cases, it is established late. It reports the case of a patient with an abdominal ectopic pregnancy diagnosed by laparotomy in the third trimester. It was successfully treated by laparotomy with extraction of the fetus and the entire placenta. It was reviewed the bibliography related to the risk factors of abdominal ectopic pregnancy, the diagnostic methods and the therapeutic options.Downloads
