Abstract

Introduction: Infants leepis a subject that at some point in life disturbs many fathers and mothers. Definingwhatis a normal sleep pattern in childhood is complicated, due to the various factors that determine it. Objetive: Evaluate the total duration of sleep in infants. Methods: A total of 38 dyads in the lactatingst age were evaluated, the mothers completed for a week their children's sleep diary. Results: Total duration of infantsleep in 24 hours, had anaverage of 11.33 hours. Conclusion: Mexican childrens leep between two and three hours less according to the National Sleep Foundation parameters. It is necessary to establish educations trategies in order to promot esleephygiene from an early age.
