Postkeratoplasty Glaucoma diagnostic and therapeutic challenge
Keywords:
glaucoma, corneal transplantationAbstract
Glaucoma is a serious complication after keratoplasty because of its high incidence, its severity and the challenges associated with diagnosis and treatment; it represents the second leading cause of graft failure and is a devastating complication for corneal transplantation. Its diagnosis is customary to be done by indirect signs that the triad of diagnosis and monitoring of glaucoma is difficult to accomplish due to the characteristics of the postoperative penetrating keratoplasty features. The primary goal after corneal transplantation is to restore visual acuity for the patient. To achieve good visual acuity, which may be limited by glaucoma, requires a clear graft and regular and low corneal astigmatism.Downloads
