The history and contributions of the father of Cuban Orthopedics, Dr. Julio Martinez Paez, and highlights its main personal characteristics and professional ethical values and patriotic and his revolutionary action in the July 26 Movement, the Sierra Maestra mountains and the triumph of the Revolution in his work as Prime Minister of Health and Social Welfare. In this paper refers to the life and work of Dr. Julio Martínez Páez He will take into account the historical stage in which he developed, the extent of his contributions to cuban medicine and the revolutionary process in general, and the force of his example in current and future generations of revolutionaries doctors. It was tried to establish an approach to the revolutionary doctor and pay a modest tribute to his memory by projecting his example as an undisputed paradigm and as a devoted lover medical profession. New generations of Cuban doctors may find a role model of virtue, love, selflessness and patriotism in this illustrious Doctor.
