Abstract

Several decades ago the main function of the Dentistry Specialist was only to heal. With the advancement and evolution of science, activities related to the promotion and prevention of oral diseases has been incorporated into daily practice. Among these oral diseases, one of the most common is dental caries, widely known for the consequences it produces. The close relationship between poor oral hygiene and the development of dental caries has been demonstrated.
