Keywords:

This research was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the Bach Flower Remedies as a complementary method for the reduction of emotional distress in patients with oncohematologic diseases. The sample was intentionally selected and formed by 12 patients; six of them in the study group and the rest in the waiting group. The psychological variables studied as indicators of emotional distress were: anger, depression, anxiety and negative experiences. The results showed favorable changes in the study group in relation to a reduction of the overall trend of occurrence of negative experiences (anxiety, fear, depression and anger); also with regard to physiological responses to anxiety and evaluation, interpersonal and everyday situations. Interesting changes were also observed in the external control of anger and in the anger expression index, as well as in the indicators of depression, which were also favorable in the study group. In general, it can be concluded that the Bach Flower Remedies were an additional resource, effective in reducing emotional distress among the hospitalized patients with oncohematologic diseases that formed the sample.Downloads
