In some fields of medicine, the levels of evidence that the clinical practice guidelines support are not the best one would wish. Management of children with severe sepsis and septic shock may be one of the best examples of this statement. A review of some of the inotropic and vasomotor drugs most commonly used in pediatric and neonatal septic shock is presented. It includes our experience in the intensive care unit of the José Luis Miranda Provincial Pediatric University Hospital of Villa Clara.Downloads
