Endoscopic approach of bladder lithiasis secondary to a migration of intrauterine device

Bladder lithiasis secondary to the migration of an intrauterine device to bladder is not frequent and it is manifested by low urinary irritative symptoms and haematuria in a patient who does not know the whereabouts of her contraceptive. For the extraction of contraceptives, open surgery and laparoscopic surgery are used as well as the transurethral endoscopic approach or extraction by percutaneous cystostomy. It is presented a female patient of 48 years old with a T-shaped lithiasis mass behind the trine, towards the bladder fund, fixed to the mucosa. A little invasive surgical procedure was performed, that was feasible because it was made a litofragmentacion and the endoscopic extraction of the calculus concretions and the contraceptive device, without complications for the patient, who quickly rejoined the social life.Downloads
