Abstract

This is a female patient in whom, at seven months of age, the parents began to notice she had awkward postures in the right hemisphere, and that the way to grasp objects was better with the left hand. As she began to hold it in a vertical position, one side of the body leaned and the palmar clip was not performed the same as other children. During physical examination it was noted, as positive data: asymmetric position with right upper limb flexion and extension of the right leg, slightly increased muscle tone in the right hemisphere, preserved trophism, slightly increased tendon reflex in the right hemisphere and complete active motility with slight limitation of movement in the right hemisphere. As negative data, it was found a convergent strabismus of the right eye and deformities such as right knee genus recurvatum and valgus ankle. It was indicated a computerized axial tomography with a diagnosis of perinatal stroke.
