Clinical-echocardiographic and therapeutic characterization in patients who suffered acute myocardial infarction and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation
Keywords:
acute myocardial infarction, clinical-echocardiographic alterations, paroxysmal atrial fibrillationAbstract
Introduction: Among the most common complications of acute myocardial infarction is paroxysmal atrial fibrillation it is considered a pandemic in current times deu to its high percentage figures of occurrence in acute myocardial infarction.
Objective: To analyze patients who suffered acute myocardial infarction and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation according to clinical-echocardiographic and therapeutic variables.
Method: A descriptive and retrospective investigation was carried out in patients with a diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, from 2019 to 2021 at Cardiovascular Surgery and Cardiology Center in Santiago de Cuba.
Results: persons over 65 years old and patient who suffered acute myocardial infarction with lower topography predominated. The non-application of thrombolytic therapy was significantly related to failed therapy, the therapeutic conduct and its results reflected that pharmacological cardioversion had high percentages; Regarding the echocardiographic variables and their relationship with the results of the applied therapy was significantly related to systolic function below 40% and segmental motility affected.
Conclusions: The clinical-echocardiographic alterations in acute myocardial infarction and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation were high heart rate, no thrombolytic therapy, echocardiographic elements such as decreased systolic function and elevated left atrial volume; so they could intervene in the success of the applied therapy to these patients.
